About Amanda

My career began in the classroom, teaching English across South Korea, Thailand, Ecuador, and online learning environments. Living and working internationally gave me something no degree program could: a deep appreciation for how culture, context, and communication shape the way people learn.

Over time my curiosity shifted from what I was teaching to how learning actually works. I became increasingly interested in the systems behind effective learning experiences: how training is structured, how learners engage with content, and how instructional design can improve real-world performance. As an ESL Program Manager, I led curriculum redesign, teacher onboarding, assessment development, and professional development for adult learners and instructors. That work taught me that the best training does not just inform. It changes how people think, perform, and show up.

That conviction brought me into instructional design, where I now combine adult learning principles, multimedia tools, and interactive storytelling to build experiences that feel meaningful rather than mandatory. I am especially drawn to scenario-based learning, because I believe people learn best when they are placed inside a situation, not just lectured at from outside one.

When I am not designing, you will likely find me somewhere in the world with a camera, a good book, and an ambitious travel itinerary.

I currently work in Articulate Storyline 360, Rise, Miro, Camtasia, and Audiate, with experience across a range of additional multimedia and design tools.
